 Watts Advisory is coordinating and managing the connection process for various grid-scale generation projects in various National Electricity Market regions.

 Watts Advisory is providing project engineering and management services for renewable generation, storage and green fuels projects in multiple National Electricity Market regions.​

• Procurement, engineering management and independent review of electrical concept designs​
• Integration of connection asset design and proposed connection performance standards with other aspects of project design

Watts advisory was engaged to develop and implement a transmission and grid connection strategy for a green fuels project and draft the relevant section of the application for a Hydrogen Headstart grant.​

Outcomes delivered:​

• Project shortlisted for up to $2bn Hydrogen Headstart funding​
• Developed tailored commercial, technical and regulatory compliance strategies for workstream​
• Successfully negotiated term sheet and letter of support negotiated with key transmission network and government stakeholders

Watts Advisory has undertaken initial grid connection suitability assessments of potential sites for a storage technology and solar generation across Australia, allowing our client to narrow site options quickly and cost effectively. This included a red flags review against key grid connection metrics and advice on region-specific considerations in the relevant renewable energy zones.

Outcomes delivered:

• We saved our client hundreds of thousands of dollars in wasted development costs by identifying a show-stopping regulatory barrier at the pre-feasibility stage.​

Watts Advisory is advising a major transmission network asset developer/owner on structuring and negotiating key interface agreements for the connection of new transmission assets to existing networks in two National Electricity Market regions, including:

• regulatory and commercial advice on how to structure key contracts
• workstream management
• commercial negotiations.
